Arrays and equal groups worksheets

Count rows and columns of dots, or equal groups, and write the multiplication sentence that matches.

About this worksheet

The first step into multiplication is seeing it. Each picture is either an array (rows of dots) or equal groups (circles with the same number of dots inside). Students count the rows and what is in each row, then write the total or the multiplication sentence.

Choose how big the pictures get, and whether students write one sentence or two (rows times columns, then columns times rows, to see that the order does not change the answer).

Printing
