Elapsed time worksheets

Find how much time passed, or what time it will be, from clocks or a timeline.

About this worksheet

Choose clocks or a timeline. With two clocks, students write how many hours and minutes passed between them. On the timeline the start and end times are marked to scale, so the distance on the page is the time that passed. A third option shows one clock and an amount of time and asks for the time it will be.

Times can be whole hours, half hours, quarter hours or five-minute steps. The elapsed time is always less than a day, and the clocks are on a 12-hour face.
