Missing number worksheets
Equations with one empty box, for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or a mix.
Find outputs of linear functions using f(x) notation, or complete a table from a rule.
In notation mode each problem gives a rule such as f(x) = 3x − 2 and asks for three outputs, for example f(4), f(−1) and f(0). In table mode students complete an input-output table for a rule written y = mx + b. Every answer is a whole number.
Turn off negative numbers for a first worksheet. The solved example shows the number being put in place of x before the answer is worked out, and every answer in the key follows from the rule printed on that problem.
