Solving and graphing inequalities

Solve one-step and two-step inequalities and graph the solution on a number line.

About this worksheet

Each inequality is solved for x, and the solution is graphed on a number line with an open or closed circle and an arrow. With negative numbers switched on, some problems need the sign flipped when multiplying or dividing by a negative number. Turn off the graph to get twelve or more problems on a page.

The answer key draws the circle and the arrow in blue on every number line. The solved example works through the steps, writes the solution, and graphs it, explaining why the circle is open or closed.
