Missing number worksheets
Equations with one empty box, for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or a mix.
Find the rule y = mx + b from a table: choose it from four, write m and b, or use the pattern to fill in missing values.
Each table follows a linear rule. Students either circle the right rule from four choices, write the numbers m and b that make y = mx + b work, or use the pairs they are given to find the rule and fill in the missing y values. The wrong choices are near misses, such as the right slope with a different constant.
Every table has a single rule that fits, and the answer key gives the numbers that rule produces. Switch off negative numbers for a gentler start.
