Fraction pictures: bars and circles

Write the fraction shown on a bar or circle, or color in the fraction named, with denominators from 2 to 12.

About this worksheet

Each picture is cut into equal parts. Students either write the fraction that is colored in, or color in the fraction named. Choose bars, circles or a mix, unit fractions only or any proper fraction, and the largest denominator from 4 to 12.

The pictures are drawn to match the numbers exactly, and the answer key shows every shaded part. Use the write version for reading fractions and the color version for building them.

Printing

US Letter or A4, portrait: choose your paper size above. Print at 100 percent (actual size). Use "Black and white" for the copier, or "Color" for display pages and mini books.
