Fraction pictures: bars and circles
Write the fraction shown on a bar or circle, or color in the fraction named, with denominators from 2 to 12.
Read the fraction a dot shows on a number line, or mark a named fraction, on lines from 0 to 1 or 0 to 2.
Every number line is cut into equal parts between the whole numbers. Students write the fraction at the dot, or put a dot where a fraction belongs. Lines from 0 to 2 bring in fractions greater than 1.
Choose the largest denominator from 4 to 12. The ticks are spaced exactly, so counting the parts from zero always gives the answer.
