The value of a digit, the digit in a place, and expanded form both ways, for numbers from 2 to 6 digits.
Pick one skill or mix all four: write the value of a circled digit (the 7 in 3,472 is worth 70), name the digit that sits in a given place, add up the parts of an expanded form (4,000 + 70 + 2), or break a number into its parts. Numbers can have from 2 digits (to 99) up to 6 digits (to 999,999).
Zeros are the heart of place value, so you can leave them in the numbers (4,072 has no hundreds) or keep every digit non-zero for a gentler start. Every sheet has a solved example and an answer key, and there is a large-print version.
