Number bonds and complements
Pairs that make 10, 20, 100 or 1000 (and the 9s, 99s and 999s), as missing-number sums or as subtraction.
Write powers of 10 as numbers and numbers as powers of 10, and multiply or divide by powers of 10 by moving the decimal point.
A power of 10 such as 10 to the power of 4 is a 1 followed by four zeros. Pick one skill or mix them: write a power of 10 as a number (10 to the power of 3 is 1,000), write a number as a power of 10, multiply a number by a power of 10, or divide by one. The largest exponent can be 2 up to 6.
Multiplying or dividing by a power of 10 only moves the decimal point, and every answer here can be checked that way. Switch decimals off to use whole numbers only. The solved example explains the move in words. Every sheet has an answer key, and there is a large-print version.
