Number bonds and complements
Pairs that make 10, 20, 100 or 1000 (and the 9s, 99s and 999s), as missing-number sums or as subtraction.
Logic grids with no arithmetic: fill each row, column and box with every shape or number once, with one solution for each puzzle.
Students fill a small grid so that every row, column and box holds each symbol exactly once. The 3×3 and 4×4 grids can use simple shapes (circle, square, triangle and plus sign) that children can draw, which makes them a first logic puzzle for kindergarten and first grade. Numbers on 4×4 and 6×6 grids suit older students.
Every puzzle has exactly one solution. Choose most squares given for a gentle start, or the fewest squares for a real challenge.
