Sorting and classifying shapes
Sort a group of shapes by one attribute: count each kind, or circle every shape that matches.
Read a box plot and write the five-number summary, the range and the interquartile range.
Each box plot sits above a number line with a mark at every tick, and every value falls exactly on a tick. Students read the minimum, first quartile (Q1), median, third quartile (Q3) and maximum, or find the range and the interquartile range (IQR) from the plot.
Choose the five-number summary, range and IQR only, or all seven answers. The worked example uses a different plot and explains where each number is read.
US Letter or A4, portrait: choose your paper size above. Print at 100 percent (actual size). Use "Black and white" for the copier, or "Color" for display pages and mini books.
