Equivalent fractions

Find the missing numerator or denominator in a pair of equal fractions, with matching bar pictures or without.

About this worksheet

Each problem shows one fraction and a second fraction with a missing number. With the bars switched on, two bars of the same length show the fractions, so students can see that more, smaller parts cover the same amount. The numerator, the denominator or either one can be missing.

Choose the largest denominator from 6 up to 100 (bars work up to 12), and whether the second fraction always has more parts or can also have fewer. The starting fraction is always in lowest terms, so there is only one answer.
