Sorting and classifying shapes
Sort a group of shapes by one attribute: count each kind, or circle every shape that matches.
Students look through each set of five numbers for the one that appears most often, which is the mode.

You can change any of these settings above. Press "New problems" for a fresh set with the same settings, or pick Version A to Z to print different sheets for neighboring desks. The answer key always matches.
Each set of numbers is built so every statistic has exactly one answer: there is a single mode that appears more than once, and the mean, median, mode and range are four different numbers. Choose whether the mean comes out as a whole number or with one decimal place.
Choose how many numbers are in each set (5 to 10). A mean with one decimal place needs 5, 6, 8 or 10 numbers. The numbers are not in order, so students have to sort them to find the median. The worked example shows each step for a different set.
