Compare close scattered groups up to 10 worksheets

Scattered groups of up to ten shapes that differ by only one or two, with a more or fewer question on each card.

What is on this worksheet

Scattered groups of up to ten shapes that differ by only one or two, with a more or fewer question on each card.

  • Close groups (1 or 2 apart): On
  • Shapes are: Scattered
  • Circle the group with: More or fewer (shown on each card)

You can change any of these settings above. Press "New problems" for a fresh set with the same settings, or pick Version A to Z to print different sheets for neighboring desks. The answer key always matches.

About which group has more? which has fewer?

Each card shows two groups of the same shape. Children count each group, compare the two numbers and circle the group with more or the group with fewer. Ask one question for the whole page, or mix both, in which case the question is printed on each card. The two groups are never equal, so there is always one right answer.

Turn on "close groups" so the two numbers are only 1 or 2 apart, which cannot be settled by eye. Choose how large the groups get, from 3 up to 20, and whether the shapes sit in rows or are scattered.

Printing
